Snow continues to fall in the French ski resort of Val d’Isere, with 6-8cm due between now and Friday, which is very impressive for this late in the season.

Having just returned from a short trip to the L’Espace Killy, I can confirm that conditions are still great, with the crisp Spring air and glorious sunshine making for very happy last minute ski holiday.

Chalet Lhotse (sleeps 12+2)

Chalet Lhotse is a unique chalet located in the heart of the resort, only a few minutes walk into the village centre and 5 minutes to the Solaise piste/lifts. This chalet still retains a feeling of exclusivity and enjoys stunning views of the infamous La Face piste.

Situated in the exclusive Legettaz area of Val d’Isere, with access to the piste just 50m away leading down to Bellevarde/Solaise, Le Kilimanjaro is in a fantastic location! Only a 10 minute walk or 2 minute chauffeured drive to the village centre.

Travertino marble steps take you up from the ski fitting room to the main entrance hall of the chalet, elegantly finished with warm Italian tiles and reclaimed wood over 200 years old. Each bedroom has an ensuite bath/shower room and twin or king double beds. The warmth of the wood is pervasive throughout, and the large south/south west facing windows bathe each room in crystal clear sunlight. Himalaya is a former monastery, dating from the 17th century. Situated beside the World Cup downhill ‘Coupe du Monde OK’ slope, it is a landmark building of the charming un-spoilt hameau of La Daille in Val d’ Isere.

Original features such as the massive fireplace and the stunning window stone seats (where monks would have sat and read till daylight faded) are enhanced by modern ornamental features and state of the art facilities.
