There is a world of ways to describe Chalet N. But what does ‘N’ really stand for? I was fortunate enough to stay for 3 nights in this incredible property. With 6 years working in the luxury ski industry, Chalet N did not fail to impress as one of the top luxury ski chalets in Lech.
When it comes to the location, Chalet N delivers. Perched on the mountainside in the exclusive enclave of Oberlech, you can enjoy a prime ski-in/ski-out position. Conveniently, it is also only a 7-minute chauffeured drive to the centre of Lech. The elevated position ensures unrivalled views of the stunning Arlberg mountain range. The immense scenery with views extending out to the Tyrolean borders somehow makes Chalet N feel small.
Access to the surrounding winter wonderland is a real advantage at Chalet N. Being on the piste side, with access to the incredible Arlberg ski area and beautiful winter hiking and snowshoe trails, it’s perfect for all your mountain adventures. From the doorstep, you can explore the local area of Lech, or discover neighbouring villages. Zurs, Warth and St Anton are within easy reach for a complete Austrian Alps experience. Chalet N’s prime location means getting out and about is just as easy as returning; and this wouldn’t be done right without heading straight to the outstanding wellness facilities. Especially when you can continue to enjoy the location from the dual outdoor hot tubs, with a well-deserved glass of Champagne!
It is hard to know where to start when it comes to Chalet N’s spa. With all the wellness facilities imaginable, you will struggle to find time for anything else. Located on floor -1, you’ll be greeted with serenity created by the calm and ambient corridors leading to the spa. One of the highlights has to be the indoor pool, and for that exact reason Chalet N features on our list of the 10 Best Luxury Chalet Swimming Pools in the Alps. The water radiates shades of turquoise green and the glistening reflection exposes the silver coated ceiling above. At one end, you can enjoy massage jets at the switch of a button. Or simply take pleasure in rejuvenating the body with some lengths of the pool.
For more in the way of massage jets, the dual outdoor hot tubs are where you should head next. Don the spa robe and slippers, head outside and recharge where the natural elements meet the thermal temperatures of the bubbling hot tubs. With a glass of Champagne in hand and a stunning mountain view before you, it’s a real ‘pinch-me’ experience.
To complete your relaxation regime, head on inside for a dip in the cold-water pools, dry out in one of the two saunas, hit the steam room or head to the treatment rooms for a massage, facial or treatment of choice. Chalet N benefits from 3 in-house spa therapists who will use their expertise to target aches and pains, using award winning products by Susanne Kaufmann, ensuring you feel rejuvenated from the outside in.

Nicole knows best when it comes to making a drink. Whether you know what you want, or need a little guidance or inspiration, Nicole will use her mixology expertise to present you with incredible thirst-quenchers. Trust in her knowledge to create elegant twists to your typical beverages, helping you experience new and improved recipes. The drinks menu is extensive, but Nicole can create anything to match the desires of your tastebuds. A personal favourite was a classic gin and tonic, with cracked black pepper which complemented the gin botanicals excellently.
The bar area lends itself well as a space to connect after a day skiing in Lech. Exchange stories of your days by the roaring fire, whilst sipping cocktails or any drink of choice.
Have you ever seen a wine cave like this one? Chalet N’s wine cellar is home to top quality wines from Nikolaihof, the oldest winery in Austria, perfect for toasting a special occasion. the walls are bordered by around 200 bottles of wines and Champagnes from key regions in Austria, Italy, Germany and France. Experience typical and rare wines accompanied with your meal, or settle on in and take a seat in this elegant but traditional alpine space, for an evening tasting some of the finest wines in the world. Bottles range in sizes from a classic 750ml size, right up to a Jeroboam (a double magnum for those not so familiar)! In its 54sqm opulence, it’s certainly a headline worthy wine cave!
If your days in Lech look to be filled with mountain adventures, you will be in need of delicious mealtimes to keep you energised. And if they’re not, you can still sate in exquisite dining because, well you’re on holiday and you deserve it!
The catering at Chalet N is showstopping. From a 12-course tasting menu served up in the grand dining room, to a traditional Austrian lunch in the private Walser Stuba, a grilled buffet on the large terrace or a unique Kitchen party, Chalet N has and will cover all bases. Whatever you wish to indulge in during your luxury ski holiday in Lech, you can be rest assured, Chalet N will make it happen.
Start your day by fuelling up with an elaborate breakfast buffet, fit for the Kings and Queens of the Arlberg (yes that’s you). Complete with a rainbow of exotic fruits, fresh pastries, traditional Austrian Apfelradln, warm fluffy pancakes and waffles, breads, cheeses and meats; your tastebuds will be sent wild just by feasting your eyes on the spread before you. If you prefer your breakfasts to be hotter, simply ask the hosts for whatever is taking your fancy – just make sure to say how you like your eggs!
After a morning of activity or leisure, it’s time for another feed. From raclette and truffle fondue to large Austrian style buffet lunches and grilled meats on the terrace, lunchtime at Chalet N is an indulgence you don’t want to miss. With multiple settings to tuck in, you can enjoy catching up with the group on your mornings with a sunny mountain view from the terrace, or from the warmth of the cosy Walser Stuba. You’ll feel perfectly topped up, ready to enjoy the afternoon ahead.
As the sun draws in and the mountains reflect a deep shade of blue, Chalet N awaits for an evening of relaxation, entertainment and yes, more food. Whilst you have the freedom to tailor your menus, I have a few personal recommendations. Firstly, the tasting menu is a must. Take the tastebuds on a journey through delectable dishes and trial some of the chef’s finest work. Expect dishes such as salmon and caviar blinis, seared tuna steak and Japanese pickles, and lemon and apricot souffle.
From experience, the Kitchen Party is an evening of entertainment and indulgence you won’t want to miss. After tasting some of the chef’s true talents, this evening gives you the opportunity to witness the spectacle of gourmet food creation. The chefs invite you into their space where the sides are dressed with sushi, fresh oysters and caviar, smoked salmon canapés, truffle ravioli and more. Whilst you tuck in, the chefs keep busy topping up and adding to the spread. With great tunes and free-flowing Champagne, the kitchen party is a sight to behold and a unique experience you won’t forget.

A day skiing in Lech, followed by some wellness time and a gourmet feast, you are likely to be ready to hit the hay. But what if I told you there was lots more fun to be had? With an endless list of entertainment facilities, my feeling is that you would push through your fatigue…!
The movie room welcomes you for an evening of big screen entertainment with the family. Complete with a large choice of your favourite movies, a games console, flight simulator and complimenting popcorn, the home cinema room is the perfect way to enjoy quality time together. You can also choose to spend an evening making homemade pizzas in there!
The snooker table is for those looking for some light competition. A game of pool is an ideal way to settle any ski race disputes from the day. Plus, the chalet team will ensure you are kept hydrated with your drinks of choice from the bar.

With so much to do in the chalet, you may adopt the attitude of ‘I’ll sleep when I’m home’, but with nine impressive bedroom suites fitted with feather and down mattresses and the finest quality bed linens, it will be hard to resist some superior rest time. Each bedroom can be configured as super-king or twin, with exceptionally comfy Austrian-twin beds allowing for an undisturbed night. What’s more, you can enjoy disconnecting and recharging in your own private lounge with a fireplace. Or admiring the breathtaking view from your balcony. All before you submerge your hard-worked ski legs in the stand-alone bathtub. And with the gorgeous, organic Lederhaas bath and shower products available, you’ll feel truly pampered.
The master suite has to be one of the best I have ever seen. As you walk in, to the right a large open plan living space awaits. Complete with a feature fireplace, dining table, private bar, lounge and balcony views, you can unwind in privacy. Left of the entrance, a large four-poster bed stands in all its grandeur connected with an exquisitely designed ensuite bathroom.
On top of the 9 exquisite bedrooms, there is a bunkroom dedicated for the little ones. There will be no struggle getting the children to bed, for the kids room is where they’ll want to be. Four generously sized bunks offer the perfect hideaway to rest weary heads and recharge after a day skiing in Lech. Beautifully handcrafted wood frames each bunk, with bespoke curtains to draw closed for the optimum sleep den. A private ensuite bathroom, lounge space and balcony overlooking the beautiful traditional ski resort of Lech makes this a perfect space for the children.
