This weekend (the first weekend in September) there was fresh snowfall in the Alps. It didn’t last very long but the sight of fresh powder all over social media certainly got people thinking about their ski holidays. This, combined with children going back to school in the UK has meant that we have seen a surge in the number of people looking for a luxury ski chalet for February half term<\/a>, the busiest week of the season in the Alps. Here is my pick of some of the best luxury chalets for families that are still available for Feb half term.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chalet Alpaca, Meribel<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Chalet<\/a><\/p>\n

Chalet Alpaca<\/a> is a new addition to Ultimate Luxury Chalets for the coming season. This incredible brand new chalet is now one of the best luxury chalets in Meribel<\/a>. The chalet is fully equipped for children with a TV and games room as well as the incredible heated outdoor swimming pool. Luxury half term ski holidays in Meribel always book quickly, this is mainly down to the ski area being very well equipped for children. There are a number of great ski schools and the terrain is easy to learn on as well. It is surprising that this luxury chalet is still available. I can’t see it being available for much longer.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chalet Massis, Megeve<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Chalet<\/a><\/p>\n

Chalet Massis<\/a> is another new addition to Ultimate Luxury Chalets this season. The chalet was added to the portfolio following a visit to Megeve<\/a> by myself and Ultimate Luxury Chalets Director Andy this summer. The chalet and views in particular left us in awe. The chalet has great outdoor space for building snowmen and a nice large indoor swimming pool, again with great views. Half term holidays in Megeve offer something different to half term holidays in the likes of Meribel<\/a> or Val d’Isere<\/a>. Megeve is a pretty resort with a historical town centre. Here you’ll find designer shops and quaint restaurants and bars. Kids will be particularly impressed by horse drawn carts that traverse their way through the narrow cobbled streets. This is surely the most memorable way to make your way back to the chalet instead of taking a taxi. The skiing in Megeve is easy for families with long wide blue and green runs winding their way through the trees and along alpine pastures.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chalet Katmai, Val d’Isere<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Chalet<\/a><\/p>\n

Chalet Katmai<\/a> is one of the best luxury chalets in Val d’Isere <\/a>still available for half term. This amazing chalet is nearly full for the entire season but still has the busiest week remaining. The chalet has a long indoor swimming pool, an internal atrium garden but also facilities such as the indoor climbing wall and archery\/shooting range as seen above. The benefits don’t stop there either, particularly for families. This luxury chalet with childcare is perfect for parents that want to head skiing for the day whilst the children are taking care of by qualified Nannies or taken to the nearby Kids Club. Although there is a fee for this service, it is a small price to pay if it means that you can enjoy long days skiing on your luxury half term ski holiday in Val d’Isere.<\/p>\n

Ferme De La Corderie, Les Gets<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Ferme<\/a><\/p>\n

The Portes Du Soleil ski area is one of the most popular destinations for luxury half term ski holiday. So much so that at the time of writing this blog, 5 of the 7 Chalets that we offer within our Ultimate Luxury Chalets portfolio have already been booked for half term. One of the one still available is the amazing Ferme De La Corderie<\/a> in Les Gets.<\/a> This will be the second year that we are offering the property. The feedback that we had from the first year was superb. The chalet sits in an elevated position overlooking Les Gets. For kids, the large garden is ideal for sledging and building a snowman. Parents can look on from the muscle soothing outdoor hot tub with a glass of Champagne in hand.<\/p>\n

The Portes du Soleil is the largest ski area in Europe covering a whopping 650km of piste and covering both France<\/a> and Switzerland.<\/a> The ski area and Les Gets in particular are great for families looking for the perfect family half term ski holiday. There are a number of wide easy pistes for kids to learn to ski on but also some great more advanced pistes for those looking to challenge themselves.<\/p>\n

Chalet Couttet, Chamonix<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Chalet<\/a><\/p>\n

For those looking to do more than just ski on your half term ski holiday, Chalet Couttet<\/a> in Chamonix<\/a> could be the perfect option. This chalet was introduced towards the end of last season so is still relatively unknown to most seasonal luxury skiers. This is probably why it is still available for your luxury half term ski holiday in Chamonix.\u00a0This modern chalet has a large outdoor swimming pool and again comes complete with a cinema and games room.\u00a0Chamonix has so much more to do than just skiing, the resort has a selection of shops whilst it also has the popular sightseeing attractions of the Montenvers Mountain railway<\/a> and the Aiguille du Midi.<\/a> One of the best things for kids to do though is the luge track over by Les Planards beginner ski area.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chalet Chouqui, Verbier<\/a><\/h3>\n

One of the best luxury chalets in Verbier<\/a>, Chalet Chouqui <\/a>has everything you will need for your luxury ski holiday in Switzerland.<\/a> Sleeping up to 20 people, the chalet is the perfect large luxury chalet available for half term. Whether your group consists or multiple families or just one big family of mixed generations, you can all be assured of a fantastic stay. The chalet has one of the largest swimming pools in Verbier<\/a> and the cinema room is a particular favourite with kids looking to watch Frozen<\/a> after building their own “Olaf” in the grounds. The main draw of the chalet though are the incredible panoramic views. The chalet is in an elevated position so you are treated to some of the best views in the resort.<\/p>\n
