Val d’Isere is always a popular luxury ski holiday destination with our clients. There are an abundance of luxury ski chalets in Val d’Isere<\/a> offering high levels of catering and sumptuous facilities. The ski area of l’Espace Killy connects with Tignes<\/a>\u00a0and gives access to skiing\u00a0over 3,500m and 300km of piste. Coupled with the outstanding apres-ski scene and a phenomenal choice of restaurants both on the mountain and in resort, it is easy to understand why Val d’Isere is regarded as one of the best ski resorts in Europe.<\/p>\n

We take a look at a selection of the favourite restaurants in Val d’Isere of the Chalet Manager at one of our luxury chalets in Val d’Isere, the Chalet La Tene<\/a>. So without further ado, here below is Chris’ personal opinion and selection of the best restaurants in Val d’Isere.<\/p>\n

\"la-baraque\"<\/a><\/p>\n

La Baraque<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a relatively new and up and coming restaurant but after a year of incredible reviews from both staff and guests alike we definitely recommend it. With a great atmosphere and a varied menu this restaurant with a busy bar offers live music every evening and a great setting for your staff night off. My personal recommendation is the lamb shoulder which is shared between two. This tasty meal is cooked to perfection with the meat just falling off the bone.<\/p>\n

\"la-luge\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If you were after something a little more Savoyard traditional you cannot overlook\u00a0La Luge<\/strong><\/a>. This can be found underneath the Hotel Blizzard in the centre of town. It specialises in cheese and meat as the local dishes normally do and has arguably the best Fondue in town. The best way to experience this is to arrive in the bar at the Hotel Blizzard early and enjoy a Hendricks and Tonic with the famous David and his team before heading downstairs to have your fill of hot cheese and potatoes.<\/p>\n

\"1789\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Restaurant 1789<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a restaurant for the real meat lovers amongst us, set back away from the main road and just with an a-frame pointing the way you have to book your table at least a week in advance to have any chance of getting in for the first sitting. With a large amount of their meat being cooked on the open fire in the dining room you really are surrounded by people of the same mind set. Every time I eat here I look for something new to try but always get drawn to the excellent Beef Bras\u00e9rade with Potato Gratin.<\/p>\n

\"a_e_salle13562\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Should you be able to leave the children behind or have adventurous children\u00a0L\u2019Atelier d\u2019Edmond<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0can be found tucked away up in Le Fornet and having received its second Michelin star in 2015 it has not failed to impress. With a sumptuous menu full of character and ingenuity you have to try and pick out one or 2 courses to suit your mood. However, I would suggest taking part in either the Discovery or full Tasting menu which is created using fresh ingredients in the valley and covers a multitude of bases meaning the chefs make the decisions for you.<\/p>\n

With such amazing dining experiences to be had in Val d’Isere in the local restaurants, the luxury chalets in resort have their work cut out to keep up to the high standards set and expected of the affluent clientele that visit the ski resort each season. One chalet that we can wholeheartedly recommend is the Chalet La Tene<\/a>. They have been turning out cuisine of exceptional standards to our clients who have been lucky enough to be guests at the chalet over past seasons. This winter, it’s definitely a perfect choice of chalet for the gourmet enthusiasts among you…..however, they’ve only got 5 weeks left available so get in there quick!!<\/p>\n
