The Property
Le Grand Joux spread across 3 floors with approximately 440sqm is beautifully furnished combining a rustic charm with vintage luxury. Decorated with bespoke furniture and materials of fur, leather and pure wool.
An open plan living and dining space on the ground floor with deep comfortable armchairs and a sumptuous velvet sofa invite you to relax in front of the roaring open log fire. The roaring log fire central to the open plan living area gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the warmth. For a more intimate setting we have leather club armchairs and a soft velvet sofa surrounding the fire. Our library of books is complimented by the use of guest Kindles with a limitless choice of novels.
Drinking from crystal and eating from bone china at the dining table, which has room for up to14 allows for a memorable refined dining experience or a lively dinner party alike. Our highly trained chef, places an emphasis on the finest produce and where possible using seasonal ingredients sourced from ethical and local suppliers. His passion for food shows through in the dishes he will prepare for you.
One of the remaining features of the original Auberge (French Inn) is the bar. Today it offers our guests a wide range of spirits, cocktails and fine wines or the opportunity to spend an evening of sampling some real ale and craft beer as well as organic cider.
Our in-house Spa Therapists are available to give relaxing and invigorating treatments using the luxuriously effective chemical-free Sodashi Spa products. Guests can also use the award winning Alpha Lounger, where you can relax and stimulate your 5 senses, and the Dry Floatation Bath which gives the user a totally pressure free sensation during each treatment, all of this plus the use of a small indoor swimming pool and steam room.
The swimming pool opens onto a spacious Yoga deck with outdoor hot tub and barrel sauna with glass wall. From here you can enjoy the wonderful wintery scenery be at one with nature. Surrounded by snow covered mountains you are treated to a remote retreat with comfort and luxury combined with an elegant and unforgettable service at one of the most intriguing addresses in the Alps.
The remoteness of the lodge means that we can’t guarantee a constant mobile phone connection. However, we do provide free WiFi via satellite and a Skype phone if your own telephone is unable to connect to the internet. The Mac is also available for guests if there is a need to connect to outside world.
The prices given are based on exclusive occupancy of the chalet for up to 10 people. To include full gourmet catering, open bar and in-resort transportation.
Location
Le Grand Joux is a privately owned alpine lodge and spa nestled in the remote, secluded mountain hamlet of Graydon, situated in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, France.
This exquisitely furnished lodge is surrounded by fir and pine trees, and accessed in the winter via private snowmobile or helicopter. With a dedicated team to cater for your every need, from fine dining, spa treatments and ski planning Le Grand Joux is perfectly placed to give you a unique winter experience.
Graydon is a tranquil hamlet at the foot of the Roc d’Enfer mountains in the heart of this vast region. For great skiing from this traffic free hamlet you can either gain access to the mid level lifts on the Grand Terche ski slopes via snowmobile or by going down the mountain you are able access the Portes du Soleil from anyone of the many lift stations in Morzine.
Room Layout
The chalet is equipped with five unique en-suite bedrooms, all of which can be made up as a super king double or twin room on request. All bedrooms are located on the first floor of the chalet. All bathrooms are equipped with toiletries, bamboo cotton towels, rich fluffy bath robes and comfortable slippers.
Myrte “Love”
A calm, genteel room overlooking the snow covered trees. With a pale blue and cream colour scheme and snow leopard faux fur throws, a room to relax and snuggle down in.
Acacia “Platonic Love”
A richly decorated room with its natural slate greys and silvers a Wolverine faux fur. A south facing room with views to the surrounding mountains.
Imortelle “Unfading Memory”
A truly elegant bedroom with galleried ceiling, gold trimmed fittings and antique furnishings.This room has access to the south facing balcony.
Jasmin “Amiability”
The classic chic deco with its white and navy blue trimmings on the furniture and a soft brown faux fur throw, give this room a simple but graceful feel.
Aubepine “Hope”
With its rich colour scheme of aubergine and silver this room offers it’s guest an opulent nights rest. The chequered antique bedside tables add to its ritzy look.
Whilst we believe we have the most comfortable pillows on our beds, we like to give our guests the opportunity to try something different and so we have a selection of alternative pillows for your sleeping pleasure.
Our hypoallergenic orthopaedic sprung beds can be arranged as twins or super kings. Our bed linen is simple white organic Egyptian cotton with a high 398 thread count and a soft, luxurious feel.
