Edelweiss and Gentianes, Courchevel 1850

The Chalet Edelweiss is the ideal location to celebrate a special occasion. With 8 bedrooms and an abundance of social areas you can celebrate in style. Whether you chose to watch a film whilst relaxing in the large indoor swimming pool or cuddle up in the cinema room you can be assured that the chalet has all aspects of your special occasion covered.

Domaine Toit du Monde, Val d’Isere

The Domaine Toit Du Monde in Val d’Isere is one of the best luxury chalets for celebrating special occasions and is very popular with large groups so I wanted to ask the Sales Manager of the chalet operator why she thought that was. We had a long conversation and the following is an overview of what was discussed.

When celebrating a special occasion, privacy and exclusivity are often very important. The Domaine Toit Du Monde is created from an old monastery and is protected by impressive fortress-like stone walls, creating seclusion and exclusivity for its guests.

The chalet is actually two chalets which when combined offers the perfect chalet for a party accommodating up to 20 people. The Chalet Toit du Monde and Chalet Himalaya are very much their own chalets with their own facilities so when combined become the Domaine Toit du Monde where you can benefit from two of all the great features.

What makes these chalets perfect for a party is that most of the features can be hidden. The movie screens disappear at the touch of a button but better still so do the swimming pools. Each swimming pool is located half inside the chalet and half out but at the touch of a button the floor of the pool raises, the water drains away and voila, you have a dance floor. As half the swimming pool is outdoor you can celebrate in style whilst sipping champagne under the stars and as the depth of the pool is controllable it is perfect for families celebrating a special occasion.

One of the best areas to socialise in this chalet are the large sun terraces. You can select a fine vintage from one of the extensive wine cellars before heading out to the terrace to celebrate. If a large terrace isn’t enough you also have the extreme wow of an inflatable igloo!

The location of the chalet is fantastic for group or parties of differing abilities. On one side of the chalet you have the famous World Cup downhill ‘Coupe du Monde OK’ slope whilst on the other side you have the ‘Verte’ green slope.

Each season the Domaine Toit du Monde hosts one of the best and most renowned opening parties in Val d’Isere so they are used to hosting parties. The staff are trained in cocktail making and the chef is widely regarding as one of the best in the resort. He likes to think outside the box so a firm favourite of previous guests has been enjoying a leg of lamb or beef joint cooked over the old open fire that once heated the monastery.

Should you wish to arrive in style the local helicopter pad is just a minute away by car.

Already for the coming season the Domaine Toit Du Monde has been booked for an Anniversary party, a 40^th birthday and a 60^th birthday.

Le Chardon, Val d’Isere

Another great chalet for celebrating special occasions is Le Chardon in Val D’Isere.

If outside space is key for you when celebrating a special occasion, then the Chalet Chardon really can’t be beaten. The views from the south facing sun terrace complete with heaters are simply stunning and offer you the feeling of utter tranquillity. In the right conditions you can enjoy a party with drinks served from the hand carved snow bar. Add to this an 18ft swim spa and 2 hot-tubs your party of up to 20 people will be spoilt for choice.

I asked the Sales Manager of the chalet operator why he thought Le Chardon would be a great chalet to hold a party and here is his response.

“In the past couple of winters, Chalet Le Chardon has played host to the most memorable of celebrations, from weddings to milestone birthdays and not forgetting our very own ‘apres ski’ parties!  Set in private grounds, the outdoor terrace and magnificent views have been the backdrop to rock bands and DJ’s while the 3 large entertaining areas inside the chalet are the perfect for celebratory dinners, champagne receptions and dancing!”

No 14, Verbier

The Chalet No 14 is one of the largest luxury chalets in Verbier. The No 14 feel that they are ideally set up to host parties. The founder of the chalet Operator gave his thoughts on why they feel this way:

“The chalet can accommodate large groups of up to 26 people who are hosted by 16 professional but fun-loving staff and 3 exceptionally talented chefs. The chalet supplies unlimited amounts of the 2 house champagnes and 10 house wines as well as spirits and soft drinks.

For socialising the chalet has a Sonos™ music system and outdoor speakers or we can even arrange for live music at the chalet. Inside there is a large open plan living and dining area with open fireplace and a cinema room. The chalet No 14 has a large terrace with fire pit and the bar is fully staffed by 2 members of staff until the last guests have gone to bed. If guests would prefer to go out and experience the après ski in resort such as the excellent ‘Le Rouge’ then the chalet is centrally located or you can make the most of the 24 hour driver service.

For those looking to relax you have a choice of a swimming pool, 3 hot-tubs, a hammam and 2 massage rooms.”

Chouqui, Verbier

The fully catered Chalet Chouqui in Verbier is one of the most luxurious chalets is Verbier. Chalet Chouqui comprises two interconnecting chalets with over 900m² of internal floor space. This large luxury chalet has 9 ensuite bedrooms all have their own terrace or balcony offering dramatic views of the Mont Blanc Massif and the furnishings and interiors were supplied by the leading London interior designer Nuttall Home.
